General Care and Cleaning
- Gold-filled and silver jewelry can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.
- If there’s heavy tarnish, try a bit of Dawn dish soap and warm water.
- For some pieces, it may be appropriate to use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean them.
- When cleaning items that have both silver and pearls, try to avoid touching the pearls with your silver polishing cloth, as it tends to lessen the luster of pearls.
Wearing and Caring for Pearl Jewelry
- Silk should NOT be worn in water – Several of our pieces are strung using silk thread that needs to stay dry. If the silk threads holding your pearls or gems get wet, they will stretch and fray over time and cause your jewelry to break.
- Avoid contact with perspiration, lotions, and the like — Freshwater pearls will lose their luster when in constant contact with perspiration, cosmetics, lotions, and hair products. To preserve their luster, you should gently wipe them clean with cold water on a soft cloth, being careful NOT to wet the silk thread.
- Try NOT to scratch them — Pearls are very soft and scratch easily. Please be careful that they do NOT come into contact with abrasive surfaces.
Caring for Vegan Suede
- Vegan suede should not be worn in water — Like our silk threads, vegan suede needs to stay dry to last a lifetime. Avoid wearing your suede in the shower or while swimming.
- Spot clean for stains — To spot clean faux suede, use rubbing alcohol or equal parts water and vinegar with a damp (not soaked) sponge. Gently rub the fabric, and once dry, brush it with a soft-bristled tooth brush to restore its soft appearance.
