Generally, there are two ways you can figure out your ring size, and both are pretty easy. We’ll cover both methods in this article so that purchasing a new ring is simple and stress-free.
Method 1: Measuring Your Finger
- Measure your finger by wrapping a strip of paper or wide thread around it, leaving enough space to slide the ring over your knuckle.
- Mark the place where the paper strip meets and measure the length in millimeters or inches using a ruler. (This is the circumference of your finger.)
- Find your measurement and corresponding size in the chart below.
Method 2: Measuring a Ring That Already Fits
You can measure the diameter of one of your own rings using a ruler.
- Lay the ring on a flat surface
- Place a ruler on top of the ring.
- Measure the ring across (inside diameter) on the widest part of the ring.

Tips For Perfect Sizing
When it comes to selecting the perfect ring size, precision is key, as even a few millimeters can make a difference.
If your finger is between sizes, consider the width and style of your ring when deciding whether to size up or down:
- Large statement/cocktail rings – Keep in mind that broad/thicker ring bands (larger than 6mm) will fit tighter. It is better to choose half a size up when purchasing a thicker band, for the ring to be comfortable.
- Slim rings – If the ring is sleek and slim, we recommend that you opt for a slightly smaller size.
- Stacking rings – When you buy slim stackers, ensure a comfortable fit depending on how many you plan to stack. For just a few, pick a snug-fitting ring size. For six or more, you’ll want a slightly looser fit.
